I am so excited to have met Dr Matthias von Herrath and listened to his vision on innovative research at he Diabetes Research Institute !! As he noted, better immune therapies will be at the forefront of efforts to find a cure for type one diabetes.
During the chat Dr von Herrath shared his passion for diabetes research and how he got started in the field. When asked what influenced his decision to join DRI, Dr von Herrath explained that it is DRI's interdisciplinary approach, which brings together experts from various fields to work collaboratively towards find a cure!!
As we all continue to advocate for Diabetes policies and fund raises for a cure. I find DRI's approach, especially now with Dr von Herrath a very key approach to ultimately finding the solutions we need for a cure at many different levels.
